My wife and I were enroute from the east coast to New Zealand when a flight cancellation forced us to get a room in San Francisco for the night. We were skeptical of the relatively low price for a lodging near Union Square, but rolled the dice anyway. What a pleasant surprise! Counter staff were very friendly, the lobby/lounge was very welcoming, and the room was immaculate. Only a short walk from the King George and we were at Union Square; various cafes and eateries were within five minutes on foot. Our stay set us up well for a very pleasant day of exploring downtown before flying out for Auckland.

I thought I was getting more than what I’m paying for. I was truly impressed by Jay Licsi’s hospitality. He did everything he could to make my stay more comfortable as I was getting ready for auditions. He assigned me to an empty floor, so I was the only one on the whole floor. I could practice for my audition in my room and save lots of money to rent studio outside. I almost felt like I made a friend/supporter for my acting career in SF. I am willing to go back to stay.

Really convenient location for the tourists. they have a nice bar on the first floor, but it only works few hours in the evening. They don’t have parking but there’s a parking garage in front of the hotel, however it’s kinda pricey. But we were sure that the car is safe because you can park only from the 4th floor and we heard that small parkings usually gets robbed.

The location is very central and great (in Tenderloin, but not a seedy part). We had a wonderful room with east side *and* west side windows! The room was large enough for family of four, with coffee/tee machine and safe. The staff was very friendly. The lobby was nifty and well-equipped (games, pool table, seating for coffee+pastry in the morning).

Robert

The ceiling fan worked great (especially good since there was no air conditioning and San Francisco was experiencing a heat wave). There was nice sized closet with room for luggage to be open. The bar/lounge downstairs was a nice place for a drink. It is very close to a good brewery/restaurant as well as the cable car.
